always gets us there... ... sometimes it just takes us a little longer to get back. ♪ finally allowed back home in san bruno three days after the massive explosion and fire killed four neighborses and seriously injured a dozen more. investigators still don't know what caused the gas line to explode as the search for clues continues. the california public utility commission is ordering pg&e to inspect all 5,000 miles of the gas line statewide. they are calling on the utility to change procedure for responding to gas leaks and preserve all records for its work on the line that goes through san bruno. pge crews are working to -- pg&e crews are working to restore power. lilian kim is live in san bruno with their home coming. lilian? >> beverly mandell's home was initially yellow taged which means she could only go home to retrieve her belongings. inside there are remanence of the pipeline explosion. >> i'm probably gonna have to have a new ceiling or something. that's also got holes in it. >> i expected to be in tears, but i wasn't. i am lucky this house is still standing here. >> dozens

on this thursday at 5:00. thanks for joining us. i'm kristen sze. >> i'm eric thomas. in the news this morning bulldozers will fan out through the san bruno neighborhood devastated by a natural gas explosion and fire. officials say it's time to begin removing the demolished homes. jenelle wang is live in san bruno with more on the story. >> cleanup crews will start coming in at 8:00 this morning to clean out all the debris at this disaster site. they're expected to be here the next four to six weeks. the first job to remove close to two dozen charred cars so they can get the heavy machinery in. then remove debris from the hot zones first. 34 homes to be cleared but could be more later. the cost is about 30 to $40,000 for each job site. for the victims that lost everything, still a lot of questions as the bills pile up. >> as far as insurance. >> what we all went through -- i don't know when that healing process starts to begin. we're still numb. >> as cleanup continues, water trucks will continue to water down the ash to reduce any toxic levels. the san jose county health department has brough

us a good idea of what san bruno looks like, today. from this full shot, so is burned out homes just devastating. this street, where some of these homes. glenview drive. so much of this destruction happened concord tonight. and jeff bush went to court glenview drive to take a look of some of these homes. >> when this 30-and because an explosion and no homes carefully exploded the initial fireball was so intense of the homes near the rupture were engulfed in flames. the theory is that the wind caused those fires to cause from house to house. neighbors say it is common from the wind to blow from the west and where this fire burned, as you looking north. this was for tonight. if you conceive a mass of flames shooting into the air. -you can see that giant mass of flames and why some burned and some cannot be disciplined, definitively. however, and a situation, that sometimes it is nothing more than just sheer luck. this was able to be restored but this has a red tag because it is structurally, on sound. several have a red tank and other have a green tag that it is okay to enter. and in s

today. marcus stanley resigned after u.s. capital police say he was trying to carry marijuana into a senate building. politico reports stanley was going through security at the hart office building in washington two days ago when an officer saw him trying to conceal a green leafy substance, that turned out to be marijuana. >>> a big marijuana growing operation near san ramon has been busted. it was in a remote area in the lost trap pass regional wilderness. police found 1800 pot plants yesterday and arrested a pittsburg man they say was living there. another suspect got away. investigators estimate that marijuana is worth a quarter million dollars. >>> thousands of people waiting to learn if their homes are still standing in colorado. at least 135 homes have been destroyed by the wildfire near boulder. about 1,000 others are threatened. evacuation orders for some of the fire areas are expected to be lifted today. right now, 3500 people are out of of their homes. there's been some light rain overnight and cooler temperatures so that helped to get the fire 10% contained this mor
